what exactly BBA means?

  • What exactly is BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)?

Started as a foundation course for those wanting to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration, BBA tends to be a bit of a halfway house between BCom and MBA. You can think of it as a more generalised form of MBA, or a more professional form of B.Com. Your average BBA is spread out over three years, which are split into six semesters. A few institutes also offer four-year-long Honours programmes. BBA programmes generally have the following subjects in various permutations and combinations:

  • Business Economics
  • Company Law
  • System Management
  • Financial Accounting
  • Marketing Management
  • Project Planning
  • Insurance
  • Operation Research
  • Business Mathematics
  • Business Information Management
  • Computer Application
  • Management Accounting
  • Human Resource Management
  • Entrepreneurship Management
  • Business Organization

BBA programmes also tend to be more expensive than B.Com, and come with value additions such as industry guided curricula, professional projects, projects that you can put on your resume as work experience, and targeted training for an MBA. Lately, institutes also offer specialisations in BBA, such as Finance, Marketing, Travel and even LLB, similar to what you would find with MBAs.
A little bit of research will reveal that BBA programmes are very similar to MBA ones. They are also slowly becoming just as specialised, getting you that much closer to being job-ready within that much lesser time.

10 Social media marketing ideas you can do in 15 minutes

1. Make a list of what social sites are bringing you the most traffic: To make this list, log into your Google Analytics and click on the links to follow this sequence: Acquisitions – All Traffic – Referrals You’ll see a list showing which social site is generating the most referral traffic to your website. Each site is linked to a breakdown of the actual posts people clicked on to reach your site. My top referral source is Pinterest. When I’m in this section, I click on the Pinterest link and it takes me to a breakout of the top pins/images that brought people to my site. To help me better understand what people are interested in, I write out my top 10 pins and the number of traffic clicks from those images to my list of my top social sites. I can also track my traffic from Twitter, my newsletter and all the places where I do guest blog posts but not Facebook. Right now, Facebook is the only program that won’t give me more information other than the number of people who came to my sit...
